In our modern society, we want everything that is up to date. But still, a few old priceless things remain amongst us which we do not want to change. The vintage cars are such things. They are possessions to boast of. Even in this modern era when various sports cars or luxury cars are available in the market, still people love to buy vintage cars.
Vintage cars are actually the cars that were built between the beginning of the year 1919 and the end of 1930. This duration of time is known as the “Vintage Era” in the history of cars. However, there have been debates over both the beginning and ending date of the Vintage Era.
There were many transitions in the Vintage Era. Cars were built in the most practical way. People then wanted their cars to be convenient as well as comfortable. There were several luxuries in those days whichmay seem a bit obsolete these days.
Many new technologies were introduced in the Vintage Era. Innumerable introductions like, car heating, in-car radio, hydraulically actuated brakes, the system of octane rating of fuel, power steering etc, took place through the Vintage Cars. The common foot pedal shifted to a four-wheel braking at this time.
The Vintage Cars do not have much of the safety measures that are present in the modern day cars. They are also not meant for our everyday transportation as the technology of these cars in comparison to the cars of the present era is much backdated. They actually serve the purpose of leisure driving.
Some of the most popular cars of the Vintage Era include, Austin 7, Bugatti Type 35, Ford Model A and Cardillac V-16. The Austin 7 was an exemplary vintage car that served as a template for cars around the world.
For many the collection of Vintage Cars is a hobby while for many it is an investment. A Vintage Car is an extremely rare commodity. Though buying a Vintage Car is expensive but their maintenance is even more expensive.
